A simple history of the Dorset Fingerpost, giving context to why we should restore these special posts

At Dorset Fingerpost Restorers (DFR) we are here to help you through repair or refurbishment of our Fingerpost heritage, whether it be a single arm, a missing finial or a complete restoration.

We are a small team of experts and volunteers who are committed to helping you restore fingerposts and providing cost effective quality services. We offer craftmanship, knowledge, advice, and expertise, either supporting and guiding you through the work -: or we can complete the whole restoration on your behalf.

Our services include planning, site assessments, quotations relevant to partial refurbishments or complete restorations. We store and have access to the correct materials and parts needed for successful completion – often at discounted prices!

Our team has extensive experience of hands-on practical solutions, of the variety of Fingerposts in Dorset, along with knowledge of the stages of the work. In the last 10 years, we have either restored, or helped others to return over 100 Fingerposts to their former glory and we are here to help you now!

We are extremely proud and thankful to Roger for all the time, hard work and dedication he gives to the project.

Fingerpost restoration is a pain staking process, which takes a lot of time and patience. However, once complete it is extremely rewarding
